Weather and Climate

The northern regions of Canada experience extreme cold, with summers lasting less than two months. However, the majority of Canadians reside near the southern border, where the climate is milder. On Canada’s west coast, around Vancouver, the weather is rainy and temperate, with snowfall occurring mainly in the mountains.

Much of Canada has a continental climate, characterized by significant temperature variations throughout the year, cold winters, and warm summers. Average daily temperatures hover around −15 °C (5 °F) but can plummet below −50 °C due to severe wind chills.
